BetMGM Extends Multi-Year Partnership with New York Yankees in Landmark Sponsorship Renewal

Published 11 August 2026

BetMGM has signed a five-year sponsorship extension with the New York Yankees, expanding on-site activations at Yankee Stadium and integrating exclusive in-app content. The renewal signals continued operator confidence in high-profile MLB partnerships despite tightening advertising standards across US states.

BetMGM announced on Monday that it has extended its official sports betting partnership with the New York Yankees through the 2031 MLB season, deepening a relationship that first launched in 2021. Financial terms were not disclosed, though industry sources place the annual value in the mid-eight figures, making it one of the most significant operator-team deals currently active in North American professional sports.

Under the renewed agreement, BetMGM will retain its branded lounge at Yankee Stadium and gain expanded digital rights, including co-produced pre-game content, exclusive player interviews, and a new augmented-reality feature within the BetMGM app that allows New York-based users to view live odds overlaid on stadium camera feeds. The operator will also become the presenting sponsor of the Yankees' postseason coverage on team-owned media channels, subject to MLB approval.

The timing of the extension is notable given the increased scrutiny of sportsbook marketing in New York, where lawmakers have floated proposals to restrict in-venue advertising and cap promotional spending. BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said the partnership reflects a shift toward 'experience-led sponsorship' rather than blanket advertising, emphasizing responsible gambling messaging that will appear alongside all Yankees-branded BetMGM assets. The company confirmed that GameSense resources will be integrated into stadium activations for the first time.

Analysts at Regulus Partners noted that while some US operators have pulled back on team sponsorships to preserve margins, market leaders continue to view marquee MLB and NFL properties as essential for brand differentiation. BetMGM currently holds roughly 13% of the New York online sports betting market, trailing FanDuel and DraftKings, and the extended Yankees deal is seen as central to its strategy of defending share in the country's largest single-state betting market.
