Pragmatic Play Rolls Out Tournament Engine 2.0 with Real-Time Cross-Operator Leaderboards

Published 24 August 2026

Pragmatic Play has unveiled a major upgrade to its network tournament platform, introducing shared leaderboards that span multiple operators simultaneously. The new engine also brings dynamic prize pools and localized event templates for over 30 regulated markets.

Pragmatic Play announced today the commercial release of Tournament Engine 2.0, a rebuilt version of its promotional tools suite that allows licensed operators to participate in network-wide competitions running across their entire slots catalogue. The upgrade, developed over an 18-month cycle, introduces cross-operator leaderboards where players from different brands can compete in the same event while remaining ring-fenced by jurisdiction. According to the supplier, early pilot deployments in Italy and the Netherlands generated a 22% uplift in average session length during tournament windows.

The new engine supports dynamic prize pool scaling, adjusting rewards in real time based on participation volume, alongside configurable qualifying criteria such as bet size, feature triggers, or specific game titles. Operators can also access a library of pre-built templates tailored to regional preferences, including LATAM-focused football-themed events and Nordic winter promotions. Pragmatic Play noted the system is fully compatible with responsible gambling frameworks, allowing exclusion of self-limited players and automatic capping of participation for accounts flagged under affordability monitoring.

Head of Casino Irina Cornides said the launch represents Pragmatic's response to operator demand for shared liquidity mechanics without ceding player ownership. "Tournaments have become a central retention lever, but siloed events limit the excitement. By enabling regulated cross-operator play with proper safeguards, we're delivering the scale of a network with the compliance rigor each market requires," she stated. The company confirmed BetCity, LeoVegas, and several Buenos Aires-licensed brands are among the first live deployments.

The rollout continues Pragmatic Play's push to differentiate through infrastructure rather than pure content volume, following its recent investment in a unified reporting API earlier this year. Industry analysts at Regulus Partners noted that tournament technology has become a competitive battleground among tier-one suppliers, with Relax Gaming and Play'n GO also expanding their network promotion capabilities in 2026. Full global availability is scheduled for October, pending certification in remaining target jurisdictions.
