Playtech Signs Multi-Year Content Deal with Loto-Québec for Branded Live Casino Vertical
Playtech has secured a five-year exclusive content partnership with Loto-Québec to deliver branded live dealer tables and bespoke game show titles via the Canadian provincial operator's loto-quebec.com platform. The deal marks Playtech's deepest footprint yet in Canada's provincial monopoly markets.
Playtech announced today a five-year exclusive agreement with Loto-Québec that will see the London-listed supplier build and operate a dedicated live casino environment for the Quebec provincial operator. Under the terms, Playtech will deliver French-language branded roulette, blackjack and baccarat tables streamed from its Riga studio, alongside two custom-built game shows tailored to Quebecois cultural themes set to launch in Q2 2027. Financial terms were not disclosed, though sources close to the negotiations place the minimum guarantee in the €40 million range over the contract period.
The partnership represents a strategic win for Playtech as it continues to pivot toward long-term structured deals with monopoly and semi-regulated operators following the sale of its Finalto financial division. Loto-Québec's digital arm has been under pressure from offshore grey-market competitors, and the operator's chief executive Jean-François Bergeron said in a statement that the Playtech alliance was central to a broader channelisation strategy aimed at recapturing players who have drifted to unlicensed sites. Quebec authorities have estimated grey-market leakage at CAD 500 million annually.
The deal also includes integration of Playtech's IMS player management platform modules for responsible gambling analytics, a requirement under Loto-Québec's updated player protection charter adopted earlier this year. Playtech will deploy its real-time affordability and session-monitoring tools, which have been operational across its UK and Italian B2B partners since 2024. The supplier confirmed that approximately 30 live dealer positions would be dedicated exclusively to the Quebec operation, with hiring already underway for French-speaking croupiers.
Industry analysts view the agreement as a template for how Canadian provincial lotteries, outside of Ontario's open iGaming market, may increasingly structure supplier relationships. British Columbia Lottery Corporation and Atlantic Lottery Corporation are both understood to be reviewing their live casino provisioning contracts in 2027, and Playtech's Quebec deployment is likely to serve as a reference case. Shares in Playtech rose 2.8% in London trading following the announcement.
