Ontario's iGaming Market Turns Two: $2.1B in Revenue and Still Growing

Two years since Ontario opened its regulated iGaming market, AGCO figures show $2.1bn in total GGR — but problem gambling rates remain a concern for regulators.

Ontario's Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has published its two-year market performance report for the province's regulated iGaming framework. Total gross gaming revenue reached $2.1bn across 49 active operator licences, with sports betting accounting for 58% of the total. Slot GGR grew 34% year-on-year as more operators brought AAA game libraries to the market. Player registration hit 4.2 million unique accounts, though AGCO noted that approximately 12% of players account for 68% of total losses — a ratio that prompted a new responsible gambling working group. The province is expected to introduce new deposit limit defaults and a self-exclusion integration requirement by the end of 2026.
